The power-packed As I Am DoubleButter Cream is a rich emollient blend, graced with the finest array of natural butters and organic oils. It gets the job done.
How to use:
• Apply sparingly or liberally depending upon your hair’s need for moisture, manageability and vitality.
• Rub within palms and scrunch onto hair gently so that coils and curls are undisturbed.
• May also be used to set soft lustrous twists and twist-outs.
Tips
• Try using a little As I Am DoubleButter Cream along with the As I Am Twist Defining Cream for in-between re-twist touch-ups.
• Don’t rub oils and butters into your finished style too vigorously. It can disturb coil/curl definition. Instead, rub the product between the palms of your hands, then massage throughout the hair and scrunch onto the ends.
• Don’t overuse. A build-up of emollients can actually work against your natural curl definition, and instead of looking shinier, your hair may appear dull and matted.
Styling Tips: Apply before brushing, styling, drying or setting to form a thermal protection barrier around hair.
Daily Styling – Massage into hair beginning at the root and work toward ends. For deeper penetration, cover with plastic cap overnight.
Pre/Post Chemical Treatment – Apply 3 days prior and 3 days after relaxing or coloring hair.
Styling Tips:
Gently apply using fingertips or palms.
How to use:
• Best if applied to clean, damp hair. Use a spray bottle to dampen hair if necessary.
Apply gel and smooth down, using your fingers or a soft natural bristle brush.
• Allow hair to dry completely before touching it again.
• For next-day refreshing, dampen the area where the gel was applied, and smooth.
Tips
• The cleaner your hair is when you apply the Smoothing Gel, the better the results…more hold, more shine.
• The less oil on your hair, the better the hold.
• The gel can be easily re-activated by smoothing with damp fingers.
• To reinforce the hold, tie a scarf or place a wide headband on your hair for several minutes.
• Don’t “disturb” the hold by combing or brushing the smoothed-down hair once it is dry.
• Apply the Smoothing Gel to the hairline for twisted, off-the-face and head-banded styles, (like mine!), or smooth your entire crown, nape and/or sides for a fabulous puff or ‘frohawk look.
Apply to dry or damp hair beginning at the root and work toward ends.
Comb through for even distribution. Do not rinse. Style as usual.
Styling tip:
For a reconstructive treatment, apply Massage a generous amount to damp, not wet, hair.
Wrap hair in a warm, wet towel for 20 minutes.
Remove wrap and comb through for even distribution.
Do not rinse. Style as usual.
Daily Styling: Dispense a small amount into hair beginning at the root. Comb through for even distribution. Do not rinse.
Scalp Conditioner: Part hair into sections revealing the scalp. Massage into scalp. Do not rinse. Style as usual.
Styling Tip: Apply often to natural styles like braids and twist & locks to maintain a conditioned, healthy scalp and moisturize new growth.
How to use:
Use after cleansing and conditioning your hair. (Do not towel dry or blot after your final rinse.)
• Apply As I Am Leave-In Conditioner liberally, according to instructions. This will help prevent flaking once hair is dry.
• Apply Twist Defining Cream to detangled hair while it is wet, in small sections from root to tip, then twist away! Spray with water if hair begins to dry before you’re done.
• Air drying is recommended. You may use a hood dryer on the low setting if time or weather is an issue.
• For twist outs, undo twists and separate, only after hair is completely dry.
• For added moisture, scrunch As I Am Moisture Milk or DoubleButter Cream onto hair, daily or whenever needed.
You may use Twist Defining Cream for shingling, too, by combing it section-by-section through clean, detangled soaking wet hair with a wide-toothed comb. Dry thoroughly before manually fluffing and separating for style.
